LV Individuals

What a fantastic afternoon we had at Tarleton BC for our Finals day.

A big thankyou to Tarleton BC for hosting this event, the green was fantastic to play on and produced some superb bowling. The lovely ladies from Tarleton provided some excellent sausage rolls, cakes and refreshments.

Thanks also to the measurers, markers and Richard Pallant for present the trophies..

The Last 8 results were -

Derek Burns (Tarleton BC) 9 v Mark Wilde (Hesketh Arms) 21

John Bardsley (Sandbrook Park) 10 v Colin Moore (London Sphynx) 21

Andy Prescott (Zetland Hotel) 21 v James Treadwell (Zetland Hotel) 5

Gary Burgess (Victoria Park) 21 v Fergal Wright (Hesketh Arms) 12

The first semi-final saw Colin Moore defeat Mark Wilde 21-20.

The second semi-final saw Andy Prescott beat Gary Burgess 21-15.

We were then entertained by a truly superb final, Colin and Andy produced some of the best bowls you could wish to see.

Unfortunately, somebody has to lose, and Colin just couldn't quite match the consistency of Andy. With Andy running out a 21-14 winner.

So our new LV Individuals Champion is Andy Prescott.

Trophy, medals & prize money were presented by the Tarleton Delegate, Richard Pallant.

Entries are now being taken for this competititon

Qualifying rounds will be played on various greens, on Tuesday 20^th August, 6.30pm start.

Finals Day will be held at Fleetwood Hesketh, on Sunday 25^th August, 1pm start.

Entry fee is £6 per pair.

All entries need to be with the league secretary by the end of Friday 9^th August.

CLOSURE OF THE HESKETH ARMS PUB AND CAR PARK

The Pub and car park will be closed from Monday the 8^th of July until Monday the 5^th of August.

Access to the Hesketh Arms Bowling club will only be available from the services gate on Botanic Road during this closure.

Please be aware that parking may be limited close to the green.

The 2024 Alan Burgess Memorial Competition

THERE IS STILL TIME TO ENTER THIS COMPETITION.

The next qualifying round is Sunday, 28th July, 6.30pm @ the Zetland Bowling Club.

The final qualifying round is on Sunday 25th August, 6.30pm start @ Zetland Bowling Club.

Finals Day is Sunday 22nd September, 1pm start @ Zetland Bowling Club.

£5 entry fee, with all monies paid out in prize money.

The Burgess family have donated £200 towards prize money and the shield.
