 RUNCORN LEAGUE 2025 AGM HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR MONDAY 20TH JANUARY @ RUNCORN WAR MEMORIAL STARTING AT 19:15.

The 2025 Runcorn and District Bowling Association AGM will be held at Runcorn War Memorial Club on Monday 20th January starting at 19:15. 

The following proposals have been put forward for discussion and voting on at the 2025 AGM. As per rule 11 in the constitution, any amendments to these proposals need to be submitted in writing to the league secretary by the 30th November. Theses proposals have already been sent out via email to all club secretaries or club contacts on 5th November so this should have been passed onto their club members for comment or action.

 

1. The Tudor pairs were changed this year so that it meant if you got through,  you would be playing 3 games on the one day. I think for a lot of players this is a lot to ask of them and maybe that is why certain players did not enter the competition. 

 

 

 

2. The Murphy cup handicapping also changed to single members,  which added up to team handicap. 

 

Which in theory a team could put a number of players on with a high handicap this winning the game whereas before it was a team handicap which was discussed and agreed by all other teams that attended the meeting. 

 

 

 

3. A presentation night was voted against so do the players actually want this? or just an afternoon at the end of the season to receive their prizes, cups etc. which would in my opinion be more cost effective for the league and clubs would therefore have their monies in the bank ready for their accounts that year.

2025 Runcorn & District Bowling Association AGM to be held at Runcorn War Memorial Club starting at 19:15. All club secretaries or their representatives MUST attend the AGM. Failure to do so will result in the club being fined £5 for non attendance whether or not apologies have been sent.

it is with sadness that I have been asked by Dave Pryce Egerton Memorial secretary to post the following message :-
"Sadly, I have been asked by the family to inform the local bowling community of the passing of Ian Joyce. Ian played for the Egerton Club and was captain for over thirty years. He will be sadly missed by the club members and his many friends. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends at this sad time."
On behalf of myself, the Runcorn league committe, clubs and players I would like to pass on our sincere condolences to Ian's family and friends. Ian's funeral is taking place on Thursday 23rd January at Holy Trinity Church, Runcorn @ 13:45 then at Walton Crematorium @ 15:20. Then afterwards at Runcorn War Memorial Club.

It is with sadness that I have been asked to pass on the news that Elaine Garner the captain of the Frodsham Red Lion team has passed away after a short illness. I have known Elaine for many years and have worked with Elaine in my capacity as Runcorn league secretary this year. On behalf of myself, the Runcorn league committee and players in the league I wish to pass on our sincere condolences to her husband Bruce, family and friends. Elaine's funeral details are as follows- Tuesday 14th January 11am at Brook Chapel, Boston Avenue, Runcorn, WA7 2DE. 12:40 at Walton Lea Crematorium, Chester Road, Higher Walton, WA4 6TB. Then afterwards at Runcorn War Memorial Club, York Street, WA7 5BB.

RUNCORN/FRODSHAM FEDERATION TEAM 

Any player in the Runcorn league who would like to be considered for selection to play for the federation team in 2025 season please contact the league secretary on the email or number above or any of the selection committee, Neal Ocego, Alan Briscoe, Mark Furber, Simon Jones.

The games are played each year on the 2nd Sunday of the month starting in April until August 2025. More details can be found on the 'Federation Team News and Results' page.
