FUNERAL NOTICE
It is with great sadness that Denis Rigby, Chairman of Runcorn Subscription BC passed away on the morning of Sunday the 14th July. Funeral details to follow.
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Chetwode Arms green is now closed and the team has moved to Hazel Pear in Acton Bridge to play all remaining games.
LAWS OF CROWN GREEN BOWLS
There is a new page on this site called "BCGBA LAWS OF THE GAME" and I would encourage all players to read these as I have come across many people who do not know some of these rules and in fact make up their own rules. It is also printable so you can keep it handy for any disputes.
Week Ahead Information - W/C Monday 29th July
This week is a normal league fixture week for teams in ALL divisions.
The Frank Edwardson Merit for Div 2/3 players is Sun 28th July at Red Lion. 11am draw £3 entry. Turn up on day if not entered already by 11am.
The Semi Finals of both team cups will be on Mon 5th August but any team involved in another league on that night will be allowed to rearrange to another night as long as it's before Wed 7th Aug for Alf Jones and Wed 14th Aug for Fred Rogers. Draws and Venues are on the Competition Results Page. Any objection to venues to be notified asap. Greenage £8 per team.
Finals will be:
Alf Jones : Mon 12th August
Fred Rogers : Mon 19th August
The first Individual Comp is below and I am now inviting entries for this, its only £3 so I would encourage all 2nd and 3rd Div players to have a go.
INDIVIDUAL HANDICAP COMPETITION 2024
FRANK EDWARDSON TROPHY—2nd & 3rd Div Only
Sponsored by “WOODHOUSE PLUMBING & ELECTRICS”
The above competition will be held in 2024 for registered players in the 2nd & 3rd div. of the above league and will be played on neutral greens.
This will be a 1 day comp for upto 24 entries , draw at the green. Please be there by 11.00 to do the draw.
Sun 28th July - 11.30am Start at Frodsham Red Lion
All games 21 up (Off 3) and NO practice allowed in any round unless a bye is in the draw. Entry fee is £3 and entries must be received by the Competitions Sec. before Sun. 21st July

IMPORTANT - CANCELLED MATCHES DUE TO WEATHER
If any cup games are cancelled due to heavy rain and greens not being fit to play it is the responsibility of the 2 teams concerned in each match to rearrange at the same venue by communicating with the venues secretary. Games due to be played on Wed 22nd May must be played by Thursday 6th June at the latest so that venues for Round 2 can be arranged for the following week.
DIVISION 3 - IMPORTANT
Pavilions E have dropped out of the division due to lack of players which now makes the division only 8 teams. This means that there are only 14 matches per team in the division and teams will have 4 byes in the season.
However, so that teams have a match on their bye dates we have set up a supplementary Division 3S for Div 3 teams to play when they should have byes. Each team will play 4 matches in the season, 2 at home and 2 away, teams you play all depends on who has byes & when and there will be a cash prize for the Winners and Runners Up out of the extra subs paid in as normal for match fees.
The fixtures are on this website so please have a look and build the into your diaries.
17 of the fixtures do not have a problem playing at the home venue on the set date, however 1 of them clashes with other club teams and we suggest they are played the same week on the Monday or Thursday but can be brought forward to any date. The match affected in Division 3S is :

PLAYER REGISTRATION NUMBERS
Please can all secretaries check that every player has a registration number for BCGBA (Usually Starts CH or LAD) and Cheshire (Starts CC) and that the numbers are input for your teams.
