Funeral Notices
1 - I have been asked to put on here about the sad passing of Barbara Townsend this week on the 15th Jan 2025. She was non playing captain at Kingsley for many years. Funeral Mon 17th Feb 11am at St Marys Church, West Bank Widnes. WA8 0DP followed by Widnes Crematorium at 12 Noon. WA8 9EE
2 - Sadly I have been asked by the family to inform the local bowling community of the passing of Ian Joyce.
Ian bowled for the Egerton Club for over thirty years many of them as captain. He will be sadly missed by his many friends and family to whom we extend sincere condolences. More details to follow in due course.

LAWS OF CROWN GREEN BOWLS
There is a new page on this site called "BCGBA LAWS OF THE GAME" and I would encourage all players to read these as I have come across many people who do not know some of these rules and in fact make up their own rules. It is also printable so you can keep it handy for any disputes.

TEAM CUPS
The Finals are as follows. Any objection to venues to be notified asap. Greenage for Finals paid by the League. Frodsham Constitution Dress Code applies.
Finals will be:
Alf Jones : Mon 12th August - Helsby A 179 v Kingsley B 147 at Goshawk Start 7pm
Fred Rogers : Mon 19th August - Goshawk A 128 v Helsby D 157 at Kingsley Start 7pm
IMPORTANT NOTICE
Chetwode Arms green is now closed and the team has moved to Hazel Pear in Acton Bridge. The team will be renamed "Hazel Pear"
DIVISION 3 - IMPORTANT
Pavilions E have dropped out of the division due to lack of players which now makes the division only 8 teams. This means that there are only 14 matches per team in the division and teams will have 4 byes in the season.
However, so that teams have a match on their bye dates we have set up a supplementary Division 3S for Div 3 teams to play when they should have byes. Each team will play 4 matches in the season, 2 at home and 2 away, teams you play all depends on who has byes & when and there will be a cash prize for the Winners and Runners Up out of the extra subs paid in as normal for match fees.
The fixtures are on this website so please have a look and build the into your diaries.
17 of the fixtures do not have a problem playing at the home venue on the set date, however 1 of them clashes with other club teams and we suggest they are played the same week on the Monday or Thursday but can be brought forward to any date. The match affected in Division 3S is :
4th Sept : Rock Park v Helsby C
PLAYER REGISTRATION NUMBERS
Please can all secretaries check that every player has a registration number for BCGBA (Usually Starts CH or LAD) and Cheshire (Starts CC) and that the numbers are input for your teams.

(Black, Dark Grey or Navy Trousers, Polo Top or Other Collared Shirt; No shorts unless 22 degrees celsius or more)
