Thanks to all the teams that entered the 2024 Gala. We had a great day and even had some decent weather. The bowling was good and the new format appeared to go down well. The lunch provided by the league was well received.

Thu 11th Jul
The Coalville Over 60s Gala day celebrating the end of the season for 2024 will be held on Tuesday 24th September.
The format will be slightly different, but it will be triples with a total of 14 teams on the day.
There are 20 teams currently in the league and each team is entitled to enter a triples team for the gala day. If there are more than 14 teams entered will run a pre round to reduce the number to 14 for the day.
We are taking requests for any club currently within the league to host the Gala day. As the new format will only require one green this will open the possibility to any of the clubs within the league to host.
Please by return can any club interested in hosting let me know and we will hold a vote via email with every delegate voting to decide the winner. Please let me know by the end of July so the arrangements can be made.
Refreshments will be served as part of the celebration and the league will come to an arrangement with the hosting club to cover this. Apart from the refreshments no other fees will be paid by the league for the hosting of the Gala so please bear this in mind before applying.
Please also let me know the team wanting to enter. Each team in the league can enter one triple rink so Ashby for example can enter Ashby A and Ashby B.
The entry fee will be £15 again to cover prize money and refreshments on the day. I will send reminders, but I would like to know the full entry list by the 11th of august to enable planning for over subscription.
We will plan a few dates following the 24th just in case there are 3 drops of rain again like last year, but I am sure we will be enjoying an Indian summer this year as the main summer hasn’t even started yet.
More details will follow closer to the day on the exact format and additional activities.
