The Cec Hannay Rose Bowl Final between Manor Road and New Brighton Quarry Vikings will be held at Hswall RBL on Friday 16th August with 6pm start.

Cartwright Cup

Congratulations to New Brighton Quarry Vikings B on winning the Cartwright Cup on an excellent Albany green last night.

New Brighton Quarry B stormed to a 38 shot lead by winning the first 4 jack hoever Tixall rallied and won the next 4 jacks to reduce the lead to 4 shots. 

Unfortunately for Tixall they could not maintail their fightback and could only manage to win 1 of the last 4 jacks and New Brighton Quarry Vikings B won the match by 20 shots.

Thu 8th Aug

The Alf McDermott Memorial Invitational Bowls Competition will be held at Heswall RBL's Bowling Green on Saturday 17th August 2024 10am Start and is expected to finish about 6pm. The Competition involves 32 of the Best Crown Green Bowlers in the UK including Greg Smith (Warwick & Worcester) who recently won the BCGBA Senior Merit featuring the best Bowlers from each County. The 32 also includes 8 Bowlers from Merseyside including Steve Glover who is the current Merseyside Champion. Total Prize Money is £2,000 including £600 to the Winner. Refreshments are available all day and Spectators will be welcome.

 

The Organiser of this event is David McDermott and it is in memory of his Father Alf who  died on 19th November 2023 and was loved by everybody in the Bowls community.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Mike Halsey who has been a regular around the greens for many years.

Mike's funeral service is to take place on Tuesday 16th July (9.30am) at Landican Centre Chapel.
 
Afterwards, there is to be a wake at Tixall where the family have invited all who wish to attend.
 
Our condolences go to Mike's family, friends and bowling colleagues at this sad time.

Sad news from Bromborough Pool

Unfortunately I have to inform you that Dave Dobson our one time treasurer,secretary and team mate sadly passed away on Saturday the 6th January. Our thoughts are with Teresa and the family at this time. His funeral will be held at Blacon on Wednesday 31st January at 12.00hrs.

Sad news received from Arno Tixall.
 
Sad to report that Peter Breen passed away recently. Not had too much information from the family but the funeral is Wednesday 6th December at 3pm at Landican for anybody who wishes to attend.

Sad news received from Oxtopn Conservative Club

Nicky Bolton has sadley passed away and his funeral will take plave on Wednesday 1st December in the South Chapel at Landical at 12.30pm.
