15th May

Oxton Conservative club regrettably have to announce the passing of Steve Langton  a great Character of and on the green, he will be sadly missed.
No further details are known at this time.

The Semi-Finals & Final of the George O'Neil Pairs Competition were held at Albany this afternoon, 9th May in excellent weather conditions and on a perfect green.  In the semi-finals Bromborough Recs were just a bit too strong for the Thingwall side. Gladstone had a 40 shot disadvantage to overcome, against a Lever side that really pushed them, but ultomately just fell short. Gladstone winning by 13 shots in an excellent exhibition of top bowling. In the final they beat a plucky Bromborough Recs side in the last match, with the last 2 games pushed them to the limit, with them overcoming by11 shots. Thanks to the Albany Greenkeeper, and all the members for keeping everyone supplied with food and drinks, The Trophy was presented by George White George O'Neill s grandson, having travelled all the way from Huddersfies to represent his Grandfather. Thanks to all the Spectators, our Referee Margie Page and the measurer all day Jaxon McElnay
