2025 Shropshire Champion of Champions Report

Callum Wraight retained the title he won 14 years ago as he produced a dominant display in the Shropshire Champion of Champions to win it for a second time. He played Castlefields team mate Adam Jones in the final, and with a barrage of 2s led 17-4, and went onto win 8.

Callum defeated Mick Jones in the Semi Finals, who gave him the most trouble after being 3-0 up, however Callum got in and was too good to win 9.  Adam was only 7 across with Nick Hughes but then 16-7 ahead. Nick came back to 20-15 but Adam got the one he needed.

In the Quarter Finals, Callum beat Phil Wain, running out from 9-2 up. Adam Jones staged a great comeback from 10-1 down to lead 19-14 and then held off a fightback from Owen at 20 across to win. Mick Jones came out on top of a Quarter Final contest with an average age of 80 as he went from 13-12 up on Alan Boulton to win 13. Nick Hughes went 9-4 up on Ash Wellings but then 14-13 down. At 18 across Nick ran out.

Thank you to Edgmond for being great hosts again. Thank you to all the players who played, and to the leagues who entered a player and all the sponsors. Thank you to Reclaim Tax Uk for doing the programmes. Thank you to Mike Beckett for doing the live scores in the Semis and Final and also to everyone who measured and marked, especially Jack Hazeldine.

The competition will return next year with a few tweaks and improvements, running a week later than this year.
