Vale of Clwyd Bowling League Merits
President’s Day Individual Competition
Qualifiers will be played on the 1st September at East Parade BC; due to the tight schedule of End of Season and ruling date of the Competition, please ensure that 2 players from each team in the League are nominated and submitted to the Secretary by 4pm, Saturday 31st August to ensure that the Draw can be completed for Green allocation on the following day (Sunday 1st September). All games will be handicapped, Div A scratch, Div B +1, Div C +2, Div D +2 except on President's Day, if a player plays on his/her own green a handicap of -2 will
be applied.
The Qualifiers for Rounds 1, 2, and 3 will be completed on the 2 greens at East Parade BC, with 4 Winners from each Green qualifying for President’s Day Finals at Rhos Park BC on the 8th September.
Note:The two players in each team who have the best record of wins for the season to qualify (aggregates to count if a tie). If a player who has qualified is for an adequate reason unable to play, in the qualifying rounds and President's Day, the team must send the player with next best number of wins as a substitute, any team not represented in this competition will be fined £20.00 for each player.
Pair’s Competition – Voluntary
The qualifier’s in the competition will be held on 11th & 18th August, and the Finals on the 8th September; all will be played at Rhos Park.
The rules in accordance with the League are noted below:
Each team may enter up to 2 teams. The players representing the teams must have played at least 2 league matches. The final 2 pairs from each day to play the final on Presidents Day before the singles competition starts. Any team opting out and teams entering 2 teams must notify the secretary by the end of June. Play will commence at 10.00am on each Sunday. The winners and runners up of the pair's competition shall receive a cash prize of £40.00.and £20.00 each respectively. The League Secretary will carry out a draw of all teams and notify each Club Secretary/Captain when they are to play. Any team who has not opted out and is not represented at this competition will be fined £40.00. The pairs will be handicapped, “A” Div. Scr, “B” Div. + 2, “C” Div. +4, Div ‘D’ +4. Any team pair playing on their Home green to be handicapped – 2.

For Attention of all Captains - The League Cup Draws are now posted on the 2024 Competition Results Tab (5th tab down on the left hand side of the Home Page for those new to the site). Start times are the same as League match times 5.30pm up and including the 9th May, and thereafter 6.0pm.

Please note that in line with current League rules all matches in all Divisions up to and including the 9th May will start at 5:30pm,therein after starting at 6:00pm, and all matches in all Divisions played on the 22nd August and 29th August will also start at 5:30pm.
