MINUTES OF LV 2019 AGM @ FLEETWOOD HESKETH 20th FEB 2020

8.00 pm Meeting opened by the chairman There were 29 members present

ROLL CALL  All clubs were present

TRIBUTE  ( A minutes silence was held)

MINUTES OF 2018 to be noted and accepted

SECRETARIES REPORT. The secretary reported that Mere Brow were pulling out of the league

TREASURERS REPORT   The treasurer handed out the yearly acounts. He explained in detail all questions and the accounts were passed. He also commented that once again the officers were working volunarily and not taking the money allocated and instead it to be put towards prize money.

APPLICATION TO JOIN OR LEAVE THE LEAGUE  Mere Brow pulled their team out

PROPOSALS 

1 ( Hesketh Arms) That the pairs cup be played at the end of the season at clubs with floodlights.

This was seconded and passed

2 ( Hesketh Arms) That the new handicap system was changed ( similar to other leagues) to positions 2/3 off scratch  4/5 +20   6/7 +30  8/9 +40

The one that we designed was for each player in the team to have a handicap. This was created to give the lower teams a chance of competing the better teams and a possible chance of winning.

In my opinion this worked as Zetland B won the prem cup from position No 7. And Fleetwood Hesketh won the first division from 8th position.

It was proposed and seconded to remain as it was. It was voted and passed unanimoussly

PRESENTATION OF TROPHIES

There were 6 team cups/ trophies handed out with prize money. 

There were also 20 cash prizes for all the qualifiers in the singles and pairs competitions.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS

As there were no offers from the floor to stand as officers all 3 officers agreed to stand for another year.

AOB The Zetland brought up that they have 2 prem teams and 1 first div team. They had requested that the first div team plays on Tuesday nights. This means that all prem teams will need to play one of the Zetland prem teams on their home night being a Wednesday. It was put to the floor and 1 club said that the would not be able to raise a team against them on Wed nights.

We accepted to wait until after the Zetland AGM decision before setting the fixtures.
